£6pp (Fundraising for Dundee Heritage Trust)

Dundee’s very own Shoestring Theatre Co take to the High Mill at Verdant Works once again! This time, they’re playing out the tales – and lesser-known ventures – of Dundee’s most famous poet, William McGonagall; a weaver who ‘wouldnae wheesht!’.
As well as being the World’s best writer of bad poetry, McGonagall trained as a carpet weaver in Dundee, and lived a rich life full of adventures and campaigning – an early supporter for women’s suffrage who taught himself Shakespeare and put his own twist on performances.
This lively play features four brand new songs and will touch on many aspects of this famous Dundee figure’s storied life, with plenty for all to learn and enjoy, no matter how much or how little you know of McGonagall.
Ticket sales in aid of Dundee Heritage Trust, the independent charity that care for and operate Verdant Works Museum as well as Discovery Point & RRS Discovery.
