Dundee’s connections with the Indian Sub-continent are intertwined with the jute heritage in each location. Since 2024, the Heritage team at Dundee Heritage Trust have been regenerating the colonial India Gallery at Verdant Works Museum, in order to better represent the connections between Dundee and the Indian sub-continent; sharing more voices and stories.
This fascinating talk is a chance to peer behind-the-scenes of the project with Curator, David Reid, and Learning Curator, Kim Turford-Mowat.
Learn about the process of redeveloping the colonial India Gallery, from working with community groups, collecting oral histories, and more.
Whether you have connections to jute in India or Dundee, or are simply interested in local and global history, this talk is not to be missed!
